– We received several calls at 00.18 about gunfire where an unknown perpetrator is said to have fired several shots into an apartment, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
When the police arrived at the scene, several bullet holes were found, some of which went straight through the walls into the apartment where several people were.
– No one was injured, which is completely unbelievable considering the bullet holes that were found, says Ola Österling.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and a major operation is underway in the area with dog patrols, helicopters and picket police.
– No one has yet been detained in the case and we are currently working on determining the type of weapon that was used. The crime scene and the assessed location for shooting are cordoned off while waiting for forensic technicians and special search dogs to initiate a crime scene investigation and we interrogate witnesses and go through surveillance footage, says Ola Österling.
