At the Taposiris Magna Temple in Alexandria, Egypt, an underground tunnel leading to the lost tomb of Cleopatra, the legendary queen of Ancient Egypt, has been found during excavations led by Egyptian and Santo Domingo archaeologists under the direction of archaeologist Kathleen Martinez.

It is reported that the tunnel is approximately 1,300 meters long and 13 meters below the ground, and it has been determined that it is more than 2 thousand years old.

Commenting on the discovery of the tomb of Cleopatra thanks to the discovery, Martinez said, “If we uncover the tomb, it will be the most important discovery of the 21st century.”

On the other hand, it was reported that during the archaeological excavations, ceramic vessels and two Hellenistic head sculptures made of alabaster were found.
THE FOUNDATIONS CAN BE UNDERWATER
The team of archaeologists, who determined that a part of the tunnel was under water, stated that they believed that the foundations of the Taposiris Magna Temple were also under water.
