Carina Bergdahl’s cottage is located just beyond the area where the port of Luleå will offer redemption due to increased noise from the expanded port.
She is one of the cottage owners, permanent residents and entrepreneurs who are very concerned about how the environment will change on Sandön with the expansion of Luleå harbour.
– The limit is set at 47 decibels constant noise around the clock from the expanded port and then we end up in Bockholmsviken outside the limit, says Carina Bergdahl.
Therefore, Carina ends up outside
She and many other property owners on Sandön are classified as affected by noise from the new port, but not particularly affected, which is the criterion for the redemption offer.
– But on top of that comes the noise from SSAB’s and LKAB’s new facilities, says Carina Bergdahl, who thinks about how much she will want to stay in the cabin when the new facilities are in place.
Don’t want to leave
Carina Bergdahl does not want to leave her cabin and is not really looking for redemption. But she is worried about the future and wants everyone concerned to be able to get answers to questions at a joint meeting.
– I have emailed Daniel Smirat, who is the chairman of Luleå harbor and both municipal councilors, but the only one who, after a lot of back and forth, replied is Carina Sammeli, who met us last week.
