The Rotary Club of Dresden will be putting a $10,500 grant into fixing the roof of its community meeting space.
The Chatham Kent Community Foundation provided the funding, which will be used to repair the Rotary Wheelhouse.
The building was the former Trinity Christian Centre, and was donated by the church’s congregation in 2021 to serve the community and surrounding area, a news release from the Rotary Club said.
“The club is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers,” the release said. “Capital expenses such as roof repair significantly affect budgets, and thus, the club relies on partnerships such as the Chatham Kent Community Foundation.”
The Rotary Wheelhouse is used by a variety of organizations for meetings, celebrations and fundraisers.
“This investment by the Chatham Kent Community Foundation ensures the facility’s structural integrity and the safety of those in the community who use the space.” the Dresden club said in the release.
