David Bosch (UtrechtNu!) is the grandson of a Utrecht resistance fighter. “Together with others, he committed one of the largest bank robberies in Dutch history,” Bosch proudly told the Utrecht city council yesterday. In November 1944, a bank in Almelo was robbed. “No less than 46.1 million guilders were stolen. And that would have been around 350 million euros today.” The robbery ended in tragedy, Bosch says, six of the men had to pay for the robbery with their lives.
