At the end of World War II, Ilja Beroeashvili, like many Georgians working in the Netherlands, revolted against the Germans. When he and other Georgians stole 88 German hand grenades for the Dutch resistance, he was discovered and eventually shot. The relatives who visited the graves today are now traveling through the Netherlands. They visit, among other things, the honorary cemetery of more than 560 Georgians who died on Texel. Beroeashvili also visits a few schools to tell his story.
