Today, it is no longer considered abnormal for a grandmother to have fun with something other than games of bridge. She may like to dress trendy, flourish in a relationship without shocking those around her. If lifestyles change, certain classics remain, and flowers are one of them.
Rule n°1: don’t forget to celebrate them on Sunday March 3!
So, what are we giving our grandmothers this year? According to a study*, 82% of men and women surveyed say ” love “ their darling grandmother. It’s no surprise that, for 65% of them, Grandmother’s Day is not a boring event. Quite the contrary! And this is even more true among young people under 25 for whom it is the best way to show their gratitude. Generation Z celebrates grandmothers, no more excuses to forget it.
Rule n°2: we evolve with her, because the grandmother of today is no longer the grandmother of yesteryear!
Far from the injunctions made to mature women, nowadays the French are convinced that it is possible to be a grandmother and to have a rich and fulfilling sex life (85%), to have drinks on the terrace until early morning with friends (68%), practicing yoga (62%) – even the downward facing dog position! – and to have a connected life like an influencer with thousands of subscribers on the networks (65%) *. In short, today’s grandmother knows how to continue to enjoy receiving flowers from her grandchildren as well as how to cultivate her personal development.
Rule n°3: run to your florist!
Grandmothers have evolved, of course, but receiving flowers, or offering them to thank them, is indeed the thing that stands the test of time! For Grandmothers’ Day, they are the gift that remains popular – and by far – by all French people; 87% of them cite flowers as the gift that grandmothers prefer to receive and 93% of grandmothers themselves believe that it is the gift that their peers would prefer to receive. No wonder, because flowers have this immutable power to create a bond between people and make them share emotions, whatever the distance that separates them. So, yes, this year again, we say thank you with a bouquet.
The flowery idea that will make the difference this year?
This year we’re focusing on the memories of our beloved grandmother with a bouquet that reminds her of the time of her youth! A modern 1950s-1960s bouquet, suggested by Constance Spry. A 1970s bouquet with a touch of disco, which recalls his wild dances on the dance floor. A 1980s new wave-style bouquet to evoke electronic music, with a stunning visual effect.
