Grand River Arts Festival retuning to Glenhyrst

Tickets are on sale for Glenhyrst Art Gallery’s 2nd annual Grand River Arts Festival.

The event, happening Sept. 20 and 21 at Glenhyrst Gardens, is a celebration and exhibition of visual arts, music and theater.

The festival will include more than 50 exhibiting artists who will sell their work, 16 theater performances in the 10-Minute Play Competition, The Grand Impressionists painting competition, Brantford Potter’s Guild sale in the Gardener’s Cottage, performance art by Big Cityy Arts, food trucks and all-day musical performances on the main outdoor stage.

The event kicks off on Friday live musical performances by Miss Mae, the Blackburn Brothers, roving performance art by the Hamilton Aerial Group, and an exclusive staging of Searching for Marceau by legendary Canadian mime performer Trevor Copp.

The volunteer planning committee, made up of artist administrators, community leaders and arts enthusiasts are excited to bring this arts-based event to the community, said Glenhyrst director Ana Olson.

“We had so much fun last year, we thought we would do it all again,” she said. “We have such an abundance of talent and creativity in our region and this is just another opportunity for us to show it off.”
