That’s what The Marvels is about
Superheroine Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) has to take on the task of repairing the unstable universe after the unfortunate events from Part 1. But through a wormhole, her powers are linked to those of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) aka Miss Marvel and the SABER astronaut Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) from WandaVision.
This causes the three women to swap places locally whenever they use their light-based powers, which leads to some complications. Especially with regard to the Kree leader Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), who wants to take revenge on all the planets that Captain Marvel calls home. But Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) also has a say…
The Marvels: Is the movie worth it?
In our opinion, The Marvels is a rollicking sci-fi adventure that defies MCU fatigue with some crazy ideas and will never forget two scenes in particular. Meanwhile, at FILMSTARTS there was one in the specialist criticism solid rating with 3 out of 5 stars.
The conclusion says that the titular superheroine trio “a great job” might, especially Iman Vellani with the infectious, unreserved enthusiasm of her role. However, the whole thing is slowed down by too much generic space action and the story ballast built up in the MCU. For fans, the sequel is of course worth it for its completeness alone, and for collectors it is even more worthwhile because of the limited 4K steelbook.
