An oil refinery in Russia and a Russian border town with Ukraine are said to have been attacked. Russia accuses Ukraine of being behind the attacks.

A Ukrainian drone is probably behind a fire that broke out in the Afipsky oil refinery, says the governor of the Russian region of Krasnodar, according to several media. The refinery is located near the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, which was attacked several times earlier in May. The fire was extinguished quickly and there are no reports of injuries, according to Governor Venjamin Kondratyev.

North of Ukraine, in Russian Belgorod, at the same time, the region’s governor accuses Ukraine of being behind an attack that allegedly injured at least one person in the city of Shebekino. The information has not been confirmed.

The accusations come a day after drone attacks in Moscow, which Russia accuses Ukraine of being behind. Ukraine denies the accusations.

The White House in the United States is still gathering information about Tuesday’s drone attacks in the Russian capital but says it does not tolerate any such attacks.

– We do not support the use of American-made equipment for attacks inside Russia, says White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a press conference.

– We have been very clear about that and we will continue to be so.
