Got the wrong diagnosis – died of a heart attack

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The man sought treatment at a health center in the Karlstad area for a cough and that he had pain in the diaphragm when he exerted himself, something that the staff thought was due to him being on the verge of heart failure, writes New Wermlands magazine.

An ECG and blood pressure check were booked a month later. But the man contacted us after only a week and felt worse, so an EKG and blood pressure check were done, where the symptoms were interpreted as incipient heart failure and the man received treatment.

Three days later he died of a heart attack.

Region Värmland now reports the incident to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) according to lex Maria and writes in the report that the incident led to incorrect diagnosis, care and treatment.
