Got a job at SD despite a work test with a white power message

Quotes from the Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski, who in the 70s, 80s and 90s spread terror in the United States through repeated bombings that injured 23 people and killed three, and memes with the American Hitler lover Nick Fuentes have been published from SD’s anonymous accounts, among others .

This is shown by the magazine Expo, which has reviewed the clips after Kalla fakta’s revelation of the party’s troll factory.

“Shows that SD doesn’t care”

The Unabomber’s manifesto is often quoted today within the extreme right. And in a video on Tiktok, shared by the account Mememumriken, the manifesto’s opening words “Revolt against the modern world” are used on an image of the children’s book characters Pettson and Findus.

To Kalla fakta’s reporter, who took a job at the Sweden Democrats’ communications department, the person behind Mememumriken has told that he used the account, which was then called Trollfabriken, as a work test when he applied for – and later got – a job in the department. Something that appears in the recordings from the office.

– It shows that SD’s communications department when you take part in right-wing extremist material does not react or care, says Jonathan Leman, reporter at Expo and expert on right-wing extremism.

“Very extreme”

The same person has also shared memes big on the racially ideological white power movement with American right-wing extremist Nick Fuentes, who denies that the Holocaust happened and states that he loves Hitler. This as part of the Sweden Democrats’ troll activities.

Christer Mattsson, researcher in right-wing extremism at the University of Gothenburg and director of the Segerstedt Institute, describes this type of post as extreme.

– The irony is using Pettsson and Findus here who are very harmless and known from children’s literature, he says.

– But to quote the Unabomber who is a terrorist is of course very extreme, to join a central figure in the fascist movement. This is, of course, what we usually call violent extremism.

Cold facts have sought SD, which has not responded, but in an email to Expo, the party writes that the videos were published by a “junior employee” who did not understand what he was spreading. They have now been taken down by Tiktok after being reported several times.

Facts: The review

In two programs, TV4’s Kalla fakta has examined how the Sweden Democrats use anonymous accounts on the internet.

Kalla fakta’s reporter has worked for several months on the YouTube channel Riks and later as a communicator at SD’s communications department.

With the help of a hidden camera, it is revealed how Riks and the party are closely connected, how employees of the communications department run a large number of anonymous accounts online to denigrate political opponents and how they spread content that benefits their own party. Internally, the business is called the “troll factory,” according to the review.

Undercover in the troll factory

The Sweden Democrats have denied the information about a troll factory. Cold facts go undercover and reveal what is happening inside the party.
