“I want to thank every person who has shown support in these difficult days,” writes Rico on Instagram and continues:
“I’m still working on my recovery and getting better every day. I feel very lucky. Once again, thanks to everyone and I hope to see you soon.”
The 29-year-old Spaniard will continue to receive treatment at the Virgen del Rocio Hospital in Seville, where he was admitted on May 28 following the horse accident. Earlier this week, he was transferred from the intensive care unit.
Among other things, Sergio Rico has won the Europa League twice and played one international match for Spain.
