GThe Öran Forslöf, 60, was out walking with his särbo near his home outside Märsta this weekend.
Then they made a shocking discovery – which led to a police operation and murder investigation.
– Just as I step over a ditch, my särbo says: There is a head there.
Göran Forslöf and Särbon decided to go out and walk in a forest area along County Road 255 in Odensala in Märsta this Saturday morning.
– We would look for an old road that was on a map that we had seen for a long time. A shaft road, says Göran Forslöf.
“It was a human head”
The couple had to walk a few hundred meters before the walk took a completely different turn.
– First I saw leg pieces and just when I step over a ditch, my särbo says: “There is a head there”. I replied “No, it’s just animal parts”. She said “no but there” and pointed, says Göran Forslöf.
– Then I stepped aside and looked and it was a human head. It had been under the mud.
Göran Forslöf and Särbon alerted 112 about the macabre find.
– We had no phones with us, so we went home and called the police, he says.
Police: Identification work is ongoing
The police went out to the scene and blocked off the area. Forensic technicians conducted an investigation and were later able to confirm that it was about human remains. An investigation into murder was started and continued.
– The police held interrogation with me about it all, says Göran Forslöf.
The body parts are not yet identified but are deemed to have been at the scene for a long time, according to police.
– The identification work is still ongoing and it is currently not possible to answer when the identification work is expected to be completed. Since the identification work is still ongoing, we are awaiting the case further at this stage, says Susanna Rinaldo, press secretary at the police in the Stockholm Region.
