Google announced the rebranding of its Bard AI chatbot early last month and launched a new Android app alongside it, completing the transformation to “Gemini.” It was pretty clear from the start that Gemini wasn’t a complete replacement for Google Assistant on Android phones, as it lacked some key features that Assistant users were accustomed to. Now, a new Gemini deficiency has emerged that further justifies this idea.
Gemini came without an important feature
As documented in a Techcrunch article, Gemini on Android also lacks the ability to identify songs; This is something that Google Assistant can easily achieve. Queries to identify a song actually played by you on the Samsung S24 Ultra and Google Pixel return an error message saying “I can’t help you directly identify the song, but I can help you find it.”
