Announced alongside the Google Pixel 8, the “thermometer” feature is about to receive a major update in Europe.
Back in 2023. At the end of the year, Google unveiled its latest smartphones, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These latter then had several major new features including artificial intelligence and a large number of years of updates.
Among the new features presented with the Google Pixel 8there was also a thermometer built into the phone that could take the temperature of your objects. At the time, Google made it clear that this function was not yet compatible with human body heat. An addition made at the beginning of 2024 in the United States and which should arrive in Europe very soon.
Several clues in particular prove that this addition will soon be offered on Google Pixel phones. In particular, there is a new article available in several languages (including French) which details the manipulation to be carried out to take your temperature.
To do this, simply place the phone close to your forehead, start a measurement and move the Google Pixel around your forehead. The latter should end near your temple with a delay of four seconds.
Once the measurement is taken, it is possible to review it or even save it if you want to access it again. The thermometer feature will be available on the Google Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
