Google Photo will help you get rid of the people

Seeing old photos of a friend we got angry with or an ex who dumped us can dampen the mood of the day. But Google Photos will soon remedy the memories we no longer want to appear.

Google Photo is a very practical tool for saving all our photos and videos in a safe and organized manner. It is also possible, via this application, to create albums, share key moments of your life with those around you, and even print certain precious memories.

But as on certain social networks, notably Snapchat or Facebook, Google Photo from time to time brings out memories that date back one or more years. Often, we are touched by these photos which remind us of our vacation at the seaside last summer, or by the first steps of our little Léo, who has since grown up a lot. But certain memories, which jump out at us without us really intending them, can sometimes be unwelcome or dampen the mood of the day.

This is particularly the case if a photo of your ex appears even though you have gotten back together since your last breakup. Also imagine a friend from whom you have distanced yourself, or simply a deceased loved one who left you recently. Depending on the photos, these memories can make the user nostalgic, or even particularly sad. However, that is not the goal! To remedy this problem, Google Photo is planning a new version to exclude certain faces from the retrospectives which are often highlighted on our smartphones.

So, how can we stop seeing our last romantic getaway before our eyes, now that we’re single? For this new functionality to take into account the faces that you no longer want to see appear, you will simply have to designate them so that they can be excluded from future algorithms. You will have the choice between two options: show a face less often in memories, or block it completely.

Remember that this type of functionality already exists in the “memories” section of Google Photos, since it is possible to hide a date from the calendar, or a particular person that you no longer want to appear at all. This new option allowing you to “see less often” an individual offers another alternative to this virtual sorting.
