Google Messages has acquired a number of features over the past few months, and Google announced several of them in December on the occasion of reaching one billion RCS users on the app. Separately, the messaging app has recently seen a number of visual additions, including animated emoji reactions. Now it looks like Google is considering expanding similar reactions to its Phone app by offering multiple sound effects during phone calls.
Google is considering expanding reactions in the future
The code pointing to this special feature, which Google calls Audiomoji, was found in version 124 (beta) of the Google Phone app, according to code detective AssembleDebug written for TheSpAndroid. German site SmartDroid.de, in collaboration with AssembleDebug, was the first to report this development.
Coming back to the feature at hand, this is basically voice-based reactions that you can insert into your phone calls. There are six in total to choose from.
