Google has just announced the imminent rollout of new features in its Pixel smartphones. This “Pixel Drop”, as the Mountain View company calls it, should start arriving from Pixel 3a to Pixel 5a (5G) now.
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro should see this update arrive a little later in the month of March.

captioned calls
For this update, Google inaugurates a very practical function which should change the habits of each one as regards telephone calls. The automatic captioning system Live Caption, from Google, can now be used directly during a call.
Everything the interlocutor says is thus transcribed in real time on the screen of the smartphone. And for those who don’t like talking on the phone, it is even possible to enter your answer by typing it directly on the keyboard of the device, Live Caption then reading it to the correspondent.

Stickers and YouTube parts
When you send a message in Google Message, you can now turn your words into stickers. How? ‘Or’ What ? Simply thanks to the Gboard keyboard. A simple happy birthday sent in a message can thus be transformed into a colorful sticker repeating word for word what you have written. Be careful however, the function is currently only available for users writing in English (US).
Another novelty, you can now watch YouTube with others through the Google Duo video call application.

A polyglot pixel
Function Live Translate on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, which allows real-time translation of text or video conversations, learns new languages. The interpreter mode that it integrates and which allows face-to-face conversations to be translated on the fly, can now translate into Spanish, Italian, and even French. All translations are done locally on the device.

A widget to keep an eye on everything
This update is also an opportunity for Google to inaugurate a new Widget, ” in one look “, which allows you to gather in one place the most important information of your smartphone, in particular the battery level of the Pixel and the Bluetooth devices, which are connected to it, or a reminder inviting you to deactivate your alarm the day before a public holiday .

Night mode in Snapchat
Function Night Sight, in other words the night mode of the Pixel camera, can now be used directly in the SnapChat application. Google has chosen to integrate it to allow users of the social network to improve their shots when they are in low light conditions. The option is available on Pixel and Pixel 6 Pro, within Low Light Mode in the SnapChat app.
Finally, in addition to offering new features for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Google indicates that it has deployed certain already existing functions in more languages and on more devices. This is the case, for example, of the application RecorderGoogle’s dictaphone, which can now transcribe in Spanish or Italian on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, or the quick phrase assistant, which now works in Spanish, Italian as well as French on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
