Google launches Journeys to facilitate searches in your browsing history

Have you been interrupted in your search on Chrome and you no longer know where you are? Google can help you. The publisher has just unveiled a new function for its browser that allows you to have another look at your browsing history.

In addition to the classic list, the section Journeys (the French term is not yet known) makes it possible to obtain a grouping by subject. In the example below, the user obtains a list of his navigations carried out, related to the topic of travel (travel):

The feature even takes into account the amount of interaction you’ve had with a site to establish an importance ranking. It can be disabled and you can delete items or even sets of items.
Google indicates that the results are stored locally on the user’s machine and are not saved to the Google account. It is therefore not possible to use them on several devices.

Google has also added new actions that can be launched directly from the address bar, such as Delete history. Among the new possible actions:

  • Manage settings (Modify the parameters)
  • Customize Chrome (Customize Chrome)
  • View your Chrome history (See your history)
  • Manage accessibility settings (Change accessibility settings)
  • Share this tab (Share this tab)
  • Play Chrome Dino game (Play Chrome Dino game)

It will be necessary to wait a little before knowing the precise terms in French, which will be available on this help site.

Finally, Google introduced new widgets to provide direct access to certain functions of Chrome on Android.

You can search by typing text or speaking. You can also use the Lens feature, open a tab in private mode, and even play the Chrome Dino game.

The deployment of the new functions will be gradual and will not concern all countries at the same time. We will therefore have to wait to see them arrive in France.
