Google invites you to join the dark side! The editor has just started the deployment of a new dark theme (Dark theme) for its search engine. The dark gray gives way to a real black (#000000) which will delight users of devices with an OLED or AMOLED screen, with perhaps a slight battery saving. Indeed, the organic diodes no longer emit any light to display black pixels. However, this transition to black does not yet concern all users and some have seen it appear and then disappear. We will therefore have to wait to see it arrive on computers and mobile devices. Too bad the editor doesn’t give a choice between gray and black, because some people find gray more pleasant to go from the search page to websites that use a light theme. But that is a matter of taste.
The dark theme is available in the section Settings at the bottom of the Google home page. If you have already started a search, it is also available using the gear icon located at the top right of the screen.
