Google Cuts Access to Russian Parliaments YouTube Channel

While the Russia-Ukraine crisis continues, another sanction has been imposed on Russia. Russia, which has been subjected to a lot of social sanctions, this time came with a sanction from Google. He blocked Duma TV, the channel of the Russian Parliament. They cited the following statement as the reason, saying that “the channel broadcasting the meetings of the lower house of the Russian parliament was “terminated” for violating the platform’s terms of service.

A Google spokesperson made the following statement: “If we find that an account violates our Terms of Service, we will take appropriate action,” he said.

Russia’s Roskomnadzor Telecom regulator condemned the move, urging Google to immediately restore Duma TV’s YouTube access.

Russia also plans to block access to YouTube within the country in response to this situation. The country also blocked Twitter shortly after it began invading Ukraine. After Twitter, Facebook and Instagram shared the same fate in March. So now Russia can only use Whatsapp and other social media applications.
