Google Contacts has the right to some small changes for adding and editing contacts. The result offers a clearer and cleaner rendering, with a few additional buttons.
We may not necessarily realize it, because it’s an everyday tool that we don’t necessarily pay attention to, but Google continues to make improvements to Contacts, its application available by default on most devices Android. After integrating a new function allowing us to know the exact position of our loved ones in real time, thanks to Google Maps position sharing, the Internet giant brought clarity and efficiency to the interface last March , while making it easier to personalize contacts (see our article). And he doesn’t plan to stop there! As spotted by AssembleDebug in Android Authority, version 4.30.50 should soon include some changes to adding and modifying contacts. A welcome overhaul, the current interface being a bit heavy and busy.
Google Contacts: a new interface for adding contacts
Currently, the “Create a contact” page in Google Contacts displays a long list of fields to fill out accompanied by small icons to the left. The new version now displays only four mandatory fields (last name, first name, company and telephone number) without an icon, followed by several buttons allowing you to add optional information (email address, postal address, birthday date, etc.). ). Additionally, there is more emphasis on the “Notes” field, which appears more prominently and encourages users to add additional information about the contact.
Another new feature: the “Other fields” option now allows you to display a selection window instead of automatically adding all the other optional fields to the window (nickname, job, website, etc.). A new “Favorite” button, in the form of a small star, has also been added at the top of the screen in order to, as its name suggests, quickly add the contact as a favorite when it is created, instead of in two times. This new version of Google Contacts should soon be deployed to the general public, so be patient!
