South Africa, semi-finalist of the last CAN in Ivory Coast, did not do well against Congo this Friday, October 11 for the third day of the qualifiers. The South Africans scored five goals, including a brace from Teboho Mokoena. Bathusi Jurry Aubaas, Lyle Foster and Iqraam Rayners also shone in this one-sided encounter (5-0). After a draw against South Africa and a victory against Congo, Uganda continued its satisfactory journey by having beat South Sudan (1-0). Bevis Mugabi scored the winning goal at the start of the second half. The Ugandans, who did not participate in the last two CAN, are well on their way to returning to the continental tournament. South Africa and Uganda remain at the top of Group K.
