Good news! The Google Wallet digital portfolio simplifies the transfer process of transport securities from one device to another. No need to delete them and then add them manually one by one!
The Google Wallet digital portfolio is very practical, since it allows you to record payment means, transport titles or digital entry tickets in your phone. Soon, he will also be able to store a virtual copy of other types of documents, such as an identity card, a driving license, a loyalty or subscription card – he already supports passports for certain interior flights of the United States. Suffice to say that the application can quickly become an essential element of everyday life and, in the same way as a physical portfolio, contain a whole joyful bazaar – but an organized bazaar!
Also, the moment when you change mobile is particularly painful, since it means that you have to transfer all the content of Google Wallet from one device to another. If some documents, such as boarding or loyalty cards, are linked to your Google account and are automatically recovered, this is not the case for everyone. Fortunately, the company tackles the problem and makes the process much easier.
Google Wallet: How to transfer transport titles to a new device?
The new process concerns transport securities. In Google Wallet, the “Tap to Ride” system allows users to scan them and then pass the gates without having to unlock their phone or take out a physical card or ticket from their portfolio. The problem is that these transport titles can only be used on one device at a time, which hitherto seriously complicated their transfer from one smartphone to another, since they had to be deleted manually before they could add them On the new device.
But the latest version of the application simplifies the process thanks to the “Move the card to another device” option. Here’s how to proceed:
► On the old smartphone, open Google Wallet.
► Touch the transport title to be transferred, then open the menu with the 3 vertical points.
► Press Move the card to another device.
► Validate the deactivation by pressing on OK.
► On the new smartphone, open Google Wallet.
► Press Add to Wallet.
► then press Transport And select your public transport network.
► A new option Transfer an existing card to this phone Appears with the transport card of the old smartphone as long as the two devices are on the same Google account. Press it.
► On the old smartphone, press Continue To validate the transfer.
Please note, this method only works for transport securities. However, loyalty cards, gift cards, event tickets and boarding cards being connected to the Google account, they will automatically appear on the new device without having to go through a transfer procedure. Payment cards, identity cards, car keys and others, on the other hand, always require manual transfers for new devices.
