Good news if you are looking for a job: ten major companies in France will recruit tens of thousands of employees this year, with lasting contracts in many sectors.
In 2025, despite an uncertain economic situation, some of the largest French companies were preparing to recruit massively. In total, 88,000 positions are to be provided within ten major groups according to the latest barometer established by the new factory. If the number of hires planned is down compared to 2024, employment prospects remain very encouraging, especially in key sectors such as transport, energy, aeronautics or luxury.
At the top of these recruitments, the SNCF plans to hire no less than 21,000 people. Drivers, maintenance and customer relations are the profiles mainly sought by the railway company. This recruitment policy aims largely to meet growing needs for sustainable mobility and retirement. The majority of hiring at the SNCF will be made on an indefinite contract, guaranteeing a certain stability for new employees.
Behind the SNCF, the LVMH luxury group is another major player in the job market. With 16,000 jobs to be filled, mainly in sales, hotels and operations, the global giant continues its expansion while renewing its workforce. LVMH, which includes prestigious brands like Louis Vuitton and Dior, ensures that it maintains its domination in a strong growth sector, with opportunities for various and international profiles.
The Bouygues group follows closely, with 10,000 planned recruitments. The company, active in the building, telecommunications and the media, is in particular looking for technicians, works conductors and sales advisers. Through these hires, Bouygues wishes to support its ambitious construction projects and meet the digital challenges.
Other companies like Transdev, Engie and Veolia, are also important recruiters. Transdev, a specialist in public transport, provides 9,000 hires, whileie, a key player in the green energy sector, seeks to recruit 6,300 people to support the energy transition. As for Veolia, a specialist in water and waste management, it will offer 6,000 jobs. These groups are all looking for essential technical and operational skills to support current ecological and technological changes. Finally, let’s note a few other companies that will recruit this year, on a smaller scale: the Safran aeronautical group (6,000 stations), the Parisian transport control RATP (5,100), La Poste (4,800) and the Suez group (3 800).
In short, if the prospects for hiring in 2025 are less important than the previous year, they nevertheless remain substantial, with opportunities in various sectors. These large companies offer both sustainable contracts and future professions. Young graduates and professional retraining will find interesting evolution possibilities in these companies. If you are tempted, monitor job offers to apply as soon as possible!
