Lost Ark has long revealed a new roadmap with content for the next 3 months. But the players are angry and feel rushed.
What kind of roadmap is this? Lost Ark has presented a roadmap for the months of May, June and July. The roadmap is filled with new content such as raids and new difficulty levels for existing challenges. There should also be other things like better housing options for the fortresses and a summer festival.
One thing that stands out is the exclusive skins that will only be available in the western version of Lost Ark. The way they were announced is a bit strange: “We did some research and found that a significant number of our players really like anime.”
In short: Lost Ark will bring skins inspired from classic animes of the 80s and 90s and according to the description they could be from the anime Sailor Moon. On Reddit, the announcement was laughed off with a sarcastic: “Woah, no way, really?”
But what concerns players most is the amount of PvE content.
Lost Ark could soon also be available on your mobile phone:
Players feel rushed by the roadmap
Why do players feel rushed? In many games, players are happy about new content – unlike Lost Ark. Since the Korean version is still ahead of the Western version of the MMORPG, the developers are delivering a lot of content at once. The raid Thaemine Boss just appeared on April 20, 2024 and has been keeping players on their toes so far.
Things should continue in May, even if many games have not yet finished with the content of the last update. New challenges follow, the epilogue about Thaemine and the next story, which will lead to new raids in June, are already waiting.
That’s too fast for the players. You would actually need more time to defeat the difficult bosses and improve the equipment and characters, but you hardly have it because new content is already waiting for you.
What do the players say about the roadmap? The players think the roadmap is really stupid. This is not even due to the new content itself, but rather the fact that there is so much that players can expect in the next few months.
On Steam, user steammohannedlostark writes: “Who says we’re craving a roadmap or new content? Thaemine was just released. Give us time to breathe instead of rushing our content just to catch up.”
Steam user omnichronos goes one step further: “Good job killing this game. One of the most charming MMORPGs I’ve ever played. At least at the start.”
To progress in the story, the current boss, Thaemine, must be defeated. Arhitria writes on Reddit: “Funny how they said Thaemine was HM [Hard-Mode] will be very difficult, it will be an honor to have completed it and not everyone will be able to do it and they did it as a DUTY for a STORY quest xD I mean, bravo!”
The problem of players feeling rushed and overwhelmed in Lost Ark is nothing new. The developers themselves actually wanted to take care of it: Lost Ark: Fight against excessive demands and bots – the feedback from the players sets the direction
