Reduced bear stock
– We see that the bear population has decreased in the area and that it has really helped. There have been years when many ropes went without calves, but this year it seems that most managed, says Hanna Persson.
It has not been an easy year for the reindeer herders in the Sami village, says Persson, referring to the plans for the green transition in Sápmi. A year with many and healthy calves was therefore welcome.
“Hope for the future”
– It has been difficult with the so-called green transition that is destroying the reindeer industry, but this gives hope for the future, says Persson.
