Hear Alex Norén talk about the support from Swedes on the court in the player above.
In total, Alex Norén landed at one stroke over par – eight strokes off the lead.
– I am satisfied. I would have liked to be a little higher on the leaderboard but overall it was very fun to have a chance. A remote chance like today, if I had played very well it would have been even more fun, he told SVT Sport after the competition.
The 42-year-old also takes the opportunity to pay tribute to the support from Swedes on site during the competition.
– Unbelievable. I have never seen so many Swedes on the track. Maybe it’s Ludde who pulls everyone out here, he says with a smile.
As far as the battle for the top is concerned, the American Xander Schauffele, the South African Thriston Lawrence and the Englishman Justin Rose seem at the time of writing to settle for the victory.
Schauffele currently leads at eight under par – two ahead of Lawrence and three ahead of Rose after 13 holes.
The competition is ongoing.
