Golf: Åberg took the first win in the new golf competition

Team The Bay – with players Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark and Shane Lowry – crushed the opponents in New York in the very first TGL match, taking home the win 9-2.

The 15 holes took just under two hours to play and were something completely different from what professional golfers are used to, notes Åberg.

– It’s very cool to be in a crowded environment where the crowd is so close to you and screaming, there’s betting going on and people are shouting “don’t miss now!”, he tells TGL’s website after the competition.

– I’m definitely looking forward to playing more competitions like this so I can experience it again.

World stars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are behind the new concept, which is played indoors and is a hybrid between simulated and real shots.

– It was really loud from the beginning, it’s something we don’t experience very often, says Ludvig Åberg and states that he has never before had the opportunity to make his entrance on the track to music.

– I had a very hard time choosing my song, I’ve never been allowed to enter one before.
