Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán met the former President of the United States Donald Trump’s on Friday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
The pro-Russian Orbán traveled there right after the NATO summit held in Washington.
– We discussed ways to achieve peace. Today’s good news is: he’s going to solve it! Orbán wrote on the messaging service X and referred to Trump, who has boasted of his ability to end the war in Ukraine.
In the photo, the attention is drawn by the men’s peculiar arrangement, which exudes symbolism. Golden wings flutter behind Orbán, as if he had angel wings on his back.
Presumably, the photo was taken by a court photographer approved by Orbán.
It is not known whether Orbán is standing in front of the wings by chance.
In recent weeks, Orbán has been visiting undemocratic leaders a lot. He met the Russian president within a week Vladimir Putin in Moscow and the leader of China Xi Jinping in Beijing.
What we do know is that the golden eagle has its place on the side table in the Mar-a-Lago living room in front of a giant art relief.
The pictures below show the decorated room and the eagle statue placed on the side table.
Golden American Eagle
The bird statue that ended up at Mar-a-Lago depicts the US national bird, the bald eagle, holding in its claws a scroll of paper with the US Constitution written on it.
The original bronze statue was made by the artist Lorenzo E. Ghiglieri and it was commissioned by an art investor Mark Russo.
The name of the statue is American Patriot. Thence several copies have been made. The eagle that ended up in Trump’s mansion is gold-plated.
In 2021, the creator of the eagle statue has published a video of the handing over of the statue, in which President Trump thanks the artist for a meaningful work of art.
Mar-a-Lago, another White House
Donald Trump bought the Mar-a-Lago mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, with its furnishings, in the 1980s for eight million dollars.
During his presidency, the villa became the U.S another White House.
Several media events and world leaders have been hosted in the villa’s premises during Trump’s presidency.
Mar-a-Lago was built in 1927 by one of America’s wealthiest women, a cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post.
His as a wish was that the property would be created after his death as a “winter White House”. Presidents Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy spent time at the manor in the 1960s and 1970s.
The current owner of Tilus has partially changed the appearance of the manor.
The interior is partly original, but Trump has replaced most of the furniture with new ones. Almost the entire living room is completely gilded from Trump’s wish.
Trump was in financial trouble in the 1990s, and was about to lose the entire mansion. Eventually, he ended up turning the area into a private club that cost $50,000 to join.
At the beginning of Trump’s presidency in 2016, the membership fee increased to $200,000.
