The weathercocks are mainly found on Protestant churches. It symbol should remind believers of the Gospel story of Peter, one of Jesus’ followers. It describes that a rooster crowed three times after Peter denied knowing Jesus three times. In addition, the rooster symbolizes a new beginning, because it crows at sunrise.
