Jonna Sundling has been pulled with a cold which prevented her from competing during the beginning of the season.
But now there is good news.
This weekend, Sundling is on the starting line in the Scandinavian Cup in Östersund.
There has been no competition so far this season for the Olympic champion Jonna Sundling who has been suffering from a lingering cold. But on Friday it’s finally time – when Sundling is registered for the Scandinavian Cup in Östersund.
Sundling back
As expected, the expectations are not very high as it is the first competition of the season for the 27-year-old, and they did not want to stress the training for Sundling.
– We have sneaked into training and didn’t want to stress anything by going to the World Cup. We have run some speed sessions, some tougher sessions and not suffered setbacks, says Sundling’s personal trainer Magnus Ingesson according to Aftonbladet.
The article continues after the picture.
Friday’s competition is mainly about getting started and getting a hard training session and then ramping it up further.
– It’s not world champion form. It’s more about being able to start competing and taking it as hard sessions. After Östersund, we can perhaps start with hard training, says Ingesson.

“blank sheet”
Sundling may also compete on Sunday, but that remains to be seen and depends on how her body responds after Friday’s competition.
– Can she handle several races? It is really difficult. We go in with a bit of a blank slate. Whether or not she will be able to line up on Sunday remains to be seen. She is registered (on Sunday), but we will see how she reacts after Friday.
