Gold exploit is causing prices to skyrocket – bots are making 1.2 million a day

Prices in World of Warcraft are rising. This is due to bots that use a new exploit and become extremely rich.

Gold is still an important resource in World of Warcraft. No matter whether it’s about the repair costs, buying a new mount or even paying for the subscription with the WoW brand. For this reason, the actually forbidden sale of gold is still a problem in the game – especially because bots are always finding new methods to make a lot of gold.

What kind of exploit is this? The exploit allows characters to defeat numerous enemies that are actually significantly below their level in a split second. However, these enemies still drop loot as if they were level 70. This means that the bot is looting the loot of several dozen level 70 creatures every few seconds, even though it is actually killing creatures more than 20 levels below it.

We don’t want to explain exactly how the exploit works at this point and we strongly advise against using it. If Blizzard fixes these exploits, then all accounts that have exploited such an exploit will usually be penalized – and this can lead to the permanent closure of the account.

Blizzard has already fixed parts of this exploit, but resourceful players – and also the bot operators – have already found ways to make the exploit work in other places with a little more effort.

How much do you earn from the exploit? Although the exploit is somewhat dependent on drop luck, it works out to a profit of approximately 1,200,000 gold per day if the bot runs for 24 hours straight.

However, this also means that the costs of creating an account were paid off extremely quickly with this exploit. In less than 24 hours, the bot operator has already recouped the costs for the account and from then on everything is profit.

As a rule, Blizzard bans bots in waves, so it can take several weeks before action is taken against such bots.

What’s the problem with these exploits? How much gold is in circulation in World of Warcraft has a direct impact on in-game prices, such as the WoW brand. In the game’s US region, the price recently climbed to a new high of 353,000 gold. Many players see the exploitation of the exploits mentioned above as the reason for the increasingly larger prizes.

In the long term, such a massive influx of gold can also drive up the prices of all other items in the game. This could be seen particularly well in WoW Classic, where individual herbs were sometimes sold for 500 gold.
