GO player died in battle

The ongoing Ukraine-Russia war continues to affect the gaming world. Professional CS:GO player “Oni” died in battle.

The ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia continues to take lives. In recent conflicts, another esports player with a bright future ahead of him died because of this conflict. The deceased Ostap “0ni” Onistrat was a Ukrainian CS:GO pro player who signed with a Ukrainian esports team before the war started.

Professional CS:GO player dies in battle

Ostap’s death was announced by his father in a Facebook post. His father, Andrei Onistrat, a famous investment banker, wrote:

“My little hedgehog.. You’re gone now. Time has stopped.”

It was reported that Ostap was killed at the beginning of June while he was part of the 68th brigade of the Ukrainian Regional Defense Forces. His death had a huge impact on the gaming community due to his young age. According to his profile on HLTV, Ostap was just 21 when he died. According to reports in the Ukrainian media, Ostap’s brigade was leading the Ukrainian offensive on the Vuhledar front, southwest of Donetsk city.

Ostap also participated in the attack. But unfortunately he found himself in the middle of the war and was killed while fighting at the front on 1 June. Ostap was a very promising CS:GO player. It was part of the game’s professional league for several years. The last time he appeared in a professional CS:GO tournament was in 2021 when he joined the ZUEL Championship 2021 as part of LIBERTATEM, a Ukrainian esports team.
