GO has spent and cannot look for himself

Twitch streamer Marcel MontanaBlack” Eris discovered the tactical shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Steam) in February. So far, the 35-year-old has not been particularly tactical, because he mainly opens loot boxes. Now he shows how much money he has already spent on the “hobby”.

How does MontanaBlack relate to CS:GO? The Twitch streamer has been in Counter-Strike fever since the end of February 2023. During this time he has already spent almost 300 hours in Valve’s shooter. However, there is hardly any actual play.

Instead, MontanaBlack throws itself into the “cases”: loot boxes that receive skins and stickers for weapons. These skins can easily be worth a sports car, but many are worth significantly less. In any case, the spectators are entertained with screams of joy or roars of frustration.

In a current stream, the 35-year-old showed how much money he had already put into his new passion.

How much money did he spend? MontanaBlack let his viewers estimate how much money he has already spent on CS:GO. At “over 20,000 euros” he could only smile wearily: “Brother, you have no idea.”

He then revealed the actual sum: 104,177 US dollars, the equivalent of more than 92,500 euros. The streamer himself does not seem to have had the exact amount of his expenses on the screen, because he quickly closes the window again.

“Sometimes the wrong people get paid”

How is that received? On YouTube, where the clip was posted on July 14, reactions have been rather negative. We have selected some of the top comments for you here:

  • “Honestly, that’s just sad. You could have changed someone’s life or saved it with that money.”
  • “105k??? Sometimes the wrong people get too much money”
  • “[Stell dir vor,] you also give him your meager pocket money as a donation.”
  • Nevertheless, an average of 20,000 people tune in when MontanaBlack CS:GO gambles. For the 35-year-old, these streams seem to be worthwhile, even if not all fans are enthusiastic.

However, MontanaBlack is not short of ways to recoup the money spent. In addition to the income from the CS:GO streams themselves, the streamer also has his new energy drink and the opportunity to gossip about other content creators while eating:
