The home team took the lead after less than half an hour, when Timo Stavitski was played at the end of a seemingly free counterattack. However, Gnistan equalized five minutes later Saku Heiskanen on the finish line. The goal was the 22-year-old’s first career in the Veikkausliiga.

Gnistan went into the match on a five-match winless streak, while Inter had won their previous three matches. This was not visible on the field, as Gnistan was able to control the events on the field.
However, the goals seemed to go to Inter, while towards the end of the second period, the hosts Thomas Lahdensuon the shot bounced off Heiskanen’s leg and into Gnistan’s goal.
However, the visitors responded quickly again. Heiskanen shot from a distance and thanks to the bounce, the ball went beautifully into the Turku team’s net.
Heiskanen’s night took a nasty turn when he fell to a hand foul in overtime. However, the wing was saved by the debutant hammer Anthony Joseph Marcucciwho rejected Jean Botuen penalty kick. Thus, the final score of the match was recorded as 2–2.
– Life is unpredictable. Thanks to the support and arrangements, we were able to train quickly. Now we already got a point. I’m happy with it myself, Gnistan’s star player Roman Eremenko commented to Urheilu.
Gnistan continues third last in the series. The team is two points away from IFK Mariehamn. FC Inter is now three points away from a place in the top six. VPS has 25 points, Inter 22.
