GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado EV The brothers share the built-in Ultium battery pack, offering a range of 400 miles or 640 km on the Sierra. The Ultium is based on the 800V architecture and supports DC charging up to 350kW, charging 180km in 10 minutes. Like all its competitors, the Sierra can be used as a backup energy source and GMC can be fully charged. for 21 days claims to be able to power a home.
It has a single hull option and a crew cabin with a bed about 1.83 meters long. The pickup has a center door that opens the cab and the rear seats are lowered to extend the truck bed to 2.74 metres – a very convenient solution.
The tailgate can also act as an extension, adding two more legs – a little over 3.35 meters of cargo space all together. The built-in power supply that can run the home, which can be used to power any DIY tool up to 10.2 kW, Sierra comes standard with 10 power outlets. That’s enough to run an entire workshop or charge another electric car.
When it comes to power and performance, the Sierra comes with 90hp more than its sibling, the Silverado. There’s 754hp and 1,064Nm of torque under the hood – we’ll probably see enough power to pull a house if that’s the case :). For the most part though, the Sierra will be a tough contender, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds when the twin-engine AWD drivetrain races other cars.
When not used as a traffic light racer, the Sierra is a pretty capable off-roader. It comes with four-wheel steering and has the coveted crab-walk for getting out of tight spaces, but it will likely be used to impress onlookers. The towing capacity has been quoted at 4,309 kg – that’s enough to haul the F-150 Lightning a rope and is bound to happen as soon as the first units arrive at customers.
The interior is surprising Silverado EVThe same central 16.8-inch display as the 11.8-inch digital instrument cluster, close to that of the . Denali brings with it leather, aluminum and wood, the multicolor Head up Display shows a lot of information on the windshield. Super Cruise is on board, and so are the 14 cameras that monitor every corner of the Sierra EV. Bose sound system and panoramic glass roof round off the equipment list.
The GMC Sierra EV Denali will arrive at dealers no earlier than early 2024, AT4 and Elevation rigs will follow in 2025, and GMC will offer a cheaper entry model for around $50,000, but we’ll have to wait a long time for that.
Reservations are already open on the GMC website and you’d better hurry if you want to have a chance to grab one of the early production spaces. If anything to go down in history – production for 2024 may already be fully booked.
