Women’s basketball trailblazer Caitlin Clark, who broke several records in her rookie season, won the rookie of the year vote overwhelmingly.
Representing Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark was chosen as the Rookie of the Year of the North American Women’s Basketball League WNBA. The 22-year-old received the same number of votes (66/67) from all those who voted.
During her college career, Clark, who raised the interest of women’s basketball by playing, broke several records in her rookie season in the WNBA.
The American posted a new league single-season assists record with 337. He also scored more points in his rookie season (769) than any rookie ever and the most three-pointers (122). In addition, he also broke several others records.
– Thanks to the many people who have supported me when I have been able to live my childhood dream. I am filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year, Clark wrote on social media.

Clark also helped lead Indiana to its first WNBA playoff appearance since 2016. However, the team fell in the first round of this fall’s playoffs to the Connecticut Sun in two straight games.
Clark, the new superstar of the series laughed reporters after the playoff series loss and said he aspires to become a professional golfer.
– I was focused on beating Sun, I hadn’t thought beyond that. I don’t know what to do next. I might play golf. I’ll play until it gets too cold in Indiana. I’m going to be a professional golfer.
The WNBA champion will be determined by October 20 at the latest.
