We will never forget you, Klas Ingesson!
On the anniversary, Glenn Strömberg now sends a beautiful greeting.
“We said that to each other often!”, writes Glenn on Sportbibeln’s Instagram.
They are two of Swedish football’s biggest profiles. Both have also represented Sweden in the best way as perfect ambassadors for Swedish football in Italy for many years.
Glenn & Klass
The eight years older Glenn Stromberg created legendary status at Atalanta and still lives in Bergamo to this day while the younger Class Ingesson represented Bari, Bologna and Lecce in Serie A which was an absolutely world-class league in the 90s. But they never supported each other as Strömberg ended his career in 1992 and Ingesson only moved to Italy in 1995.

Nor did they get much time together with the Swedish national team when Strömberg retired in 1990 and Ingesson made his debut in 1989. But they would share a dressing room in the unforgettable World Cup in 1990 when a Sweden with high expectations came to Italy and then had to leave after 1- 2, 1-2 and 1-2 in all three group stage matches.

Strömberg’s words
Strömberg and Ingesson found each other and found a mutual respect for each other that would leave deep traces. The other day, Klas Ingesson would have turned 55, but he tragically died of cancer in 2014 and was mourned by the whole of football Sweden.

To pay tribute to “Klabbe” on the anniversary, Sportbibeln published a tribute picture on Instagram and then Glenn Strömberg sent the most beautiful greeting to his late friend.
“Only you and I could sniff properly. We said that to each other often!” Glenn wrote along with several hearts.
