Glenn Hysén’s clever words make everyone tan – after Gunde Svan’s tough challenge: “Not the hell…”

The challenge came from Gunde Svan.
Now Glenn Hysén makes everyone tan with his clever answer.
– That applies to everything, even croquet on Midsummer Eve, you don’t go there to lose, he says.

Last fall, it was once again time for one of Sweden’s biggest sports icons to step into the television box with a brand new program. Gunde Svan was a giant on the ski track and is one of our most successful winter athletes ever. But after his career, it has also become a smash hit in front of the camera, above all as host of the long-running program “Prisoners at the fort”.

Perfectly clever word

But last year, a new program with Gunde as presenter started, called “Kompani Svan”. There, a group of celebrities goes through a series of exercises, led by Gunde Svan and Mikael Tornving, and with the help of commanders from the Swedish Armed Forces. They are not exactly easy exercises, and some moments in the program look downright brutal. Season two of the program is coming this autumn, and one of the participants is a real profile.

Glenn Hysén was quick to accept Gunde Svan’s completely tough challenge, even though he had actually hardly seen anything from the program. And there was a given explanation for that. As a soccer player, Glenn Hysén did just about everything to win, and it has continued ever since. The winner’s skull was what made Glenn accept the tough tests – and his own words about his winning insight are just too clear.

– That applies to everything, even croquet on Midsummer Eve, you don’t go there to lose, he says.

“You don’t die”

A classic test from the first season involved the participants having to throw themselves backwards from a height of several meters – headfirst into the water. Similar challenges are nothing that Hysén is intimidated by.

– I have no problem with that. No, it’s just driving, you don’t die, he says, and continues:

– It’s worse when you have to run and don with packing and stuff. You will have to fight.

Glenn Hysén competes against Mikaela Laurén, program host Rickard Olsson and chef Dante Zia, among others. But he hasn’t made any major changes in his training ahead of the program.

– Nothing. But you have a bit of a foundation. I work out at the gym, and have the physics to lift and take in. In terms of fitness, however, I’m not as good.
