Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ended his football career for good.
Over the years, there have always been divided opinions about “Ibra”.
But we will never forget when Glenn Hysén crossed his fingers that it would “go to hell” for Zlatan.
After 24 long years, nine different clubs and a total of 32 titles are Zlatan Ibrahimovic a closed chapter in football. He has seen most things and done most things over the years and will forever be one of Swedish football’s most successful players.
Zlatan’s career
He has conquered Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France during his long journey through Europe and playing for some of the biggest clubs on the planet. For a long time many claimed that he would never be able to play in England, but in the summer of 2016 he took the step to the Premier League and played for Manchester United.

It was time to silence all critics and refute them all. But we also remember how irritated the Swedish icon Glenn Hysen got over that move to Old Trafford.
– I would have rather seen him in Liverpool, because he is a very good footballer, he admitted in an interview with the newspaper GP.

Hysén’s plot
As a former Liverpool player, Hysén is even today a passionate Liverpool supporter and always wants the club’s best. He was still very excited to see “Ibra” take on England but still couldn’t stop himself from wishing him the worst in arch-rival United, especially in the matches against Liverpool.
– I hope it goes to hell for him every time, Hysén told the local newspaper with a laugh.
– No, but it’s fun that he comes there. People have been thinking for years about whether he can handle English football and I think he absolutely does. Such a football player can do anywhere. It will lift the whole league and United. Then if it goes well… I’m not convinced of that. But he is not finished as a footballer.

Glenn Hysén predicted that Zlatan would fit in well in the Premier League with his size and physique, but he did not believe in any direct goalscoring success.
– Because he is so big and strong… If he hadn’t been the athlete he is, I think he would have had problems. But he will keep players away there too so it won’t make a big difference. Then I don’t think he will score goals because he will be very noticed and marked all the time, said the legendary centre-back.
– I haven’t seen much of the French league but it seems they play practice matches every week. It is no opposition if you win the league by 30 points. So it will be much tougher now.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic would become a great success in England with a whopping 28 goals in 46 games in his first season at Manchester United. In addition, he helped win both the League Cup and the Europa League during his short time in England.
