Glenn Hysén is one of Swedish football’s best defenders ever.
And probably the most fun off the pitch.
Now the legend points out the best goalkeeper he has ever played with.
The happy Gothenburger is mainly remembered for breaking a new record and being awarded six wasps by Expressen. It was in an international match against England at Wembley in 1988 that Glenn Hysen completely dominated in a 0-0 match and set a completely new standard in the form of “Hysén class”.
Hysén’s career
The centre-back had a very successful career and won a lot of heavy titles during the years in the world top. He wrote Swedish sports history with IFK Göteborg and won the Uefa Cup twice and took three SM golds in the 80s.

We are of course talking about the Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar.
– Bruce is a complete idiot, but in a good way. Terribly funny. But sometimes you didn’t know where he was, once I headed home a ball, then he was standing and yelling with a supporter. I had to run back and clean myself. That’s him in a nutshell. But he was a very good goalkeeper, not a clown as many people think. Fit as hell, almost like a gymnast. He was really good, says Glenn in his tribute to the goalkeeper hero for the website Fotbolltransfers.
