Glenn Hysén is forever associated with his hometown of Gothenburg.
Now the football legend comes with a shock message – he and his wife Camilla are moving south.
– We’re not in town that damn often anyway, he says to Expressen.
It is usually said that it is impossible to become a prophet in one’s own hometown, but that does not apply to Glenn Hysen64. He is loved by everyone in Gothenburg, is incredibly connected to the city and also has the most Gothenburg name there is. After his football career, it was obvious that he would settle there again.
Moving south
Now, however, he and his wife choose Camilla to leave the rental apartment at Redbergsplatsen to buy something new instead. The idea was originally to find a place to live in Italy, Spain or on the favorite island of Cape Verde – simply closer to the sun – but it didn’t turn out that way.
– We have thought about this for a long time. For a while we were thinking of buying an apartment in Spain or Portugal, but then you almost have to go there every time you go abroad. Or you don’t have to, but you have it standing there. So we thought what the hell, we’ll buy one here at home instead, he tells Expressen.
Instead, the moving load goes to Mölndal, to a newly produced second home in Hill’s villa city that cost 2.4 million. Previously, they paid 14,000-15,000 plus garage fee to live in central Gothenburg. Now the expenses will be lower.

– There are many advantages to buying new. Amortization-free for a while, you pay no fee for the first three years and electricity is included. Our monthly cost will be far below what we have now and with the loans it will be like paying yourself. You don’t throw the money away, he says.
Getting closer to family
There are many advantages to the move. The new accommodation is close to a golf course, they get closer to nature, have access to a gym and a patio. In addition, Camilla’s daughter and family live nearby and it will be even closer Tobias Hysén (Glenn’s oldest son) who lives outside Kungsbacka.
– We’re not in town that damn often anyway because everything we need is around Redbergsplatsen. But I actually brought Camilla with me to Gamla Ullevi when Blåvitt met Gais the other week. She thought it was great fun until they stopped the game for 45 minutes, haha, says Glenn.
The only bad thing about the move is that he will be far away from his favorite pub Paddington in Lunden. He says that it is sad that in Mölndal there is nothing like that nearby.

To say the least, it is unexpected that such a big profile chooses to leave Gothenburg at the age of 64. We thought it was going to be the Nest forever, Glenn.
Well, good luck with the move. Hope you and Camilla will enjoy it.
