When Gladiator 2 hits theaters at the end of the year, an impressive leading actor will probably follow in the footsteps of Russell Crowe from part 1. The first official pictures have just shown in which muscular peak form Paul Mescal (Normal People) presented himself. The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal also felt this, as he would not fight against the new action star in front of the camera a second time.
Pedro Pascal was intimidated by new Gladiator 2 star
In the upcoming sequel by Ridley Scott, the Star Wars star plays new villain Marcus Acaciuswho is said to have been trained as a merciless general by Crowe’s Maximus. In Gladiator 2, there will be a fight between him and Mescal, who plays the older Lucius Verus from part 1.
Pascal told Vanity Fair that he was quite intimidated by the strength of the new Gladiator 2 star:
It’s brutal, man. I call him Brick Wall Paul. He got so strong. I’d rather get thrown off a building than have to fight him again. Competing against someone who is fit and talented and much younger… Aside from Ridley being an absolute genius, Paul is a big reason why I would subject my poor body to this experience.

Former Gladiator lead actor Russell Crowe recently said that he is not exactly looking forward to the sequel. Perhaps the new lead actor can change his mind and convince him to do part 2.
