Born in 1947 in Garessio, son and grandson of farmers in Piedmont, Giuseppe Penone is one of the major contemporary artists on the international scene. Heir to the “Arte Povera”, the Italian sculptor impresses with his surprising work which makes evident the visible and invisible links between man and nature. Winner of the prestigious Praemium Imperiale prize, the “Nobel of the Arts”, in 2014, he has been a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris since 2022.
