“The need is unprecedentedly high,” says Kees Zevenbergen, campaign chairman of Giro 555. “There is a need for immediate emergency aid, such as shelter, medical care and clean drinking water.” According to the aid organizations, the promised financial aid from The Hague will not be sufficient. The organizations expect that there are many tens of millions of euros to help victims with immediate emergency aid. “We call on the whole of the Netherlands to donate for the men, women and children who are hard hit by the events in Ukraine.”
