Girls less happy: much more pressure to perform

Significant deterioration in girls mental health much more pressure to

Twenty years ago there were hardly any young people in Europe who were less concerned about schoolwork than Dutch young people and since then school pressure has tripled. And girls are more affected than boys. “We have all come to attach much more importance to performing and excelling, always being the best version of yourself. Our results suggest that it is not good for young people to be under such pressure. Can’t we all do something together , the government, schools, parents, but also young people themselves, to change that performance culture, so that young people are at least relieved of that pressure?”
