Girls build tiny houses on wheels – a gift to the young people in Skultuna

The association’s signature is to build mini houses that include women and non-binary people in the construction process. When the opportunity arose to enter into a collaboration with ABF and the municipal council in Skultuna, it was a given that it would be another small house on wheels.

About a hundred students and a group of summer workers have been involved in the construction project where a vote decided the appearance of the house.

– There was a great variety of suggestions that trickled in, or how about a flying banana on wheels or a hamburger chain?, estimates Sarah Swärd.

The mini house is made by the young people of the area and should therefore primarily be a hangout for them. It will be placed around Skultuna according to their suggestions.

Ella Söderlund’s first summer job was carpentry on the small house.

– I don’t hang out in the center that much myself, but I think the house should be where it does the most good for the area’s young people.
