A girl under the age of 18 was taken from a commuter train station in southern Stockholm, locked up and raped at gunpoint.
Now six people are charged at the Södertörn district court.
On February 17, the police raided an address in Huddinge, south of Stockholm. Four people were arrested and detained on suspicion of involvement in a kidnapping.
One of them, a 20-year-old man, was arrested – but otherwise the police were very secretive about what happened.
On Monday, prosecutor Rebecka Boholm filed charges against the man, who has been in custody since February, and five other people.
Kidnapped at station
According to the indictment, the incident began on February 15 when the 20-year-old together with a 25-year-old man “with violence and threats of violence” took the victim, a girl under 18, away from the Vega commuter train station in Haninge, south of Stockholm.
The girl is said to have then been kept confined in an apartment and a basement in the neighboring municipality of Huddinge, where a then 15-year-old boy is also suspected of having participated.
During the two following days, the 20-year-old is said to have taken the victim to various addresses in southern Stockholm. At one of the addresses, the girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man under the threat of a “gun-like object”. According to the indictment, the approach shows “special recklessness and brutality”.
The girl is said to have also been tied to an element, abused with kicks and punches and had her false nails cut off before the police crackdown on 17 February.
Threatened to kill family
In the weeks before the kidnapping, the 20-year-old is said to have sent messages to the victim on social media where he threatened to kill her and her family if she did not pay him 30,000 kroner.
Prosecutor Rebecka Boholm writes in an email to TT that the background to the incident is that the girl ended up in debt to one of the perpetrators.
The main defendant, the 20-year-old, is charged with kidnapping and attempted extortion. The 25-year-old and the now 16-year-old boy are charged with kidnapping, the 26-year-old with aggravated rape.
Two more people, a 25-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, are charged with failure to disclose kidnapping.
